Al Simpson of Lake Charles, La., is a PPA charter member and was inducted into the PPA Hall of Fame in 1998. He owns four PPA National Tour victories - the 1965 Fort Worth Open, the 1966 Waco Open, the 1968 Port Arthur Open and the 1971 Lake Charles Open. He is the 1986 PPA Louisiana State Champion and winner of the Gulf Coast Tournament of Champions in 1986, 1975 and 1971. His PPA lifetime prize money earnings are an estimated $4,000. His PPA lifetime state prize money winnings are an estimated $2,000. His PPA lifetime stroke average is 30.28. Simpson is former owner and operator of the Putt-Putt Golf Course in Lake, Charles. "Today's players enjoy the fruits of the game because of men like Al Simpson," PPA Commissioner Joe Aboid said.
