27 June 2009 - Monroeville, PA - Monroeville's Par 2 Golf Course was the host for this weekend's combined Great Lakes and Virginia tour events. The weather was ideal and provided near perfect putting conditions for the 72 hole Pennsylvania Open
of Penn Hills, PA was able to take advantage of the ideal conditions and win the Pennsylvania Open with rounds of 25, 27, 24 and 24 for a 72 hole score of 100. The last round of 24 enabled Ken to overcome a one shot deficit going into the round to become victorious. Second place went to Scott Buddie
of Westlake, OH. Scott led in each of the first three rounds with scores of 24, 25 and 26 but his last round of 26 left him one shot back at 101. Craig Williams
finished in third place with 103 while John Bambling
and Walter Kizzie
tied for 4th at 104. The cash line for the day was at 106.
In the amateur division, Gerald Vick
of Greenfield, PA shot 4 consecutive rounds of 27 to shoot a 72 hole score of 108 and claim a one shot victory over Barb Mingo
of North Olmsted, OH. Barb shot rounds of 25, 28, 30 and 26 for her second place finish. John Tuite
finished in third at 111. Don Mathews
placed fourth at 112 while Terry Sanner
rounded out the top 5 at 115.
