Jeffrey Smith Sweeps East Texas with Win in Longview
18 May 2008 - Longview, TX - Jeffrey Smith makes it two wins for the Weekend with a three shot win in Longview Texas on Sunday. His 23 under par score was impressive on the newly carpeted course in Longview. Wade Sahmel was one shot back going into the last round and lost 2 more shots to Smith in the final 18 holes. Byron Kirby pulled out a new putter for the weekend finished third in Longview for a two-three finish behind Smith's impressive back to back wins. Sahmel and Kirby won spots in the TPT Championship in medal play while Brice Bergesen and David McCollister each won spot in match play. Mickey Delucca from Baton Rouge Louisiana started out in second to last place and put it into high gear as he won the Amateur division in Longview Texas. This was Delucca's first Win in 2008 and won a TPT Championship spot along with runner up, Alan Sahmel of Houston Texas. Alan is the first Player to win 4 spots in 2008 and finished 4 back of DeLucca in a second place tie with Gary Plain. Also winning TPT Championship Spots would be Trevor Lewin and John Berger.
