Cliff Matthews Cruises to Victory in 2008 Texas State Tour Opener
5 April 2008 - Lake Charles, LA - Cliff Matthews from the Dallas, Texas Metroplex cruised to a three shot victory over Jeffrey Smith from the Dallas, Texas Metroplex today in the first Texas PPA Tour event of the year. Qualifying spots were won by Matthews and Smith in medal play and Tom Robertson and Danny Tatum in match play. Patrick Simpson from Denton, Texas beat Mike Huckaby from Arlington, Texas one shot in an 18 hole playoff after they tied after 54 holes at 84, 24 under par, in the first Texas APA Tour event for the year.
