Lee Messinger
of Dallas, Texas, won the Professional Division of the Texas State
Qualifying tournament today in Fort Worth, Texas, by three strokes
over second-place finisher
Cliff Matthews
of Haltom City, Texas, and a total field of eight professionals.
This is Lee's first win in two years and is well deserved. Lee's
second round score of 27 was the lowest round of the day by two
strokes. Medal play spots were won by Lee Messinger and
Mike Baldoza
and Match Play spots were won by
Danny Tatum
and James Taylor.
Mickey
DeLucca of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, won the Amateur division of the
Texas State Qualifying tournament today in Fort Worth, Texas, by three
strokes over second-place finisher
Ken Stanfill
of Waco, Texas, and a total field of eight amateurs. Mickey led from
the beginning of the tournament to the end. This is Mickey's second TPT
win this year. Medal play spots were won by
Rob Martin and
Danny Hoel and
Match Play spots were won by
Pat Simpson
and Chris Franks.
