- Day one on course #3 was dominated by
Joel Baker
from Arlington, TX, firing rounds
of 26, 24, 24, and 25 (45 under par) to take an eight stroke
lead. Baker's two rounds of 24
tied the previous course record. Day two on course #1 saw a
changing of the tides. A third round 34 opened the door for
Rainey
Statum (Huffman, TX) and
Randy
Reeves (Montgomery, AL) sitting only three strokes
behind. Statum stepped up and answered the challenge and
strolled in the final round with a course record tying 22.
Statum's final day total of 103 brought him from 12 shots
off the lead to a five stroke victory.
Trevor
Lewin (Dallas, TX) took the amateur
division wire to wire. His opening round 10 under par 26 gave him a
one stroke lead that he was able to stretch out to an 11 stroke
victory when all was said and done.
Kenny
Beck (Katy, TX)
was the big mover on day two shooting an amateur best 120 taking him
from 8th place to 4th.
