James Taylor |
12 August 2006 - Lubbock, TX - The Texas Putting Tour continued its schedule in
West Texas at the Lubbock course. Despite taking a 4 on the first hole of the
tournament James Taylor
managed a nice 10 under 26 to take the opening round lead by two strokes over
both
Joel Woodall
and Lee
Messinger. The second round would see Taylor and Woodall pull away with each
posting a 55 to make it a two man event going to the last round.
Over the opening holes Taylor pulled a little ahead and Woodall
was under the gun to make a push over the last few holes. He would
accomplish this but was unable to makeup any ground as Taylor held
steady by matching him over the last five holes of the tournament to
shoot a 25 and a three round total of 80 for the victory; his first
of the year. Joel Woodall received a state spot.
