Lee Messinger Win Oklahoma State Tour Event in Playoff over Steve Yates

27 August 2006 - Lawton, OK - It rained throughout the night and soaked the Lawton, OK course for the Oklahoma Tour's Sunday medal tournament on Course #1. In wet playing conditions, there was drizzle throughout the first couple of rounds and an outright downpour during the final round to make aces impossible and pars became the desired outcome of a hole

In the professional division, Lee Messinger defeated Steve Yates in an 18 hole playoff after the two ended tied at the end of regulation play at 92. Mike Chisum finished third at 95, with James Taylor fourth at 99.

Jason Van Buskirk successfully completed a weekend sweep in Lawton with a five stroke victory over his dad, Jimmy VanBuskirk.
