2005 Oklahoma State Tour

It was hot and humid in Salina with little shade to cool down in
over on course#2. In the Pro division,
Greg Sandlin
got his first Oklahoma tournament win of the 2005 season with a
three round total of 85. In the first round,
Terry Smith
and Kendall
Payne both shot six under par. Sandlin was a stroke behind at
31. Greg Sandlin stepped it up in the second round by shooting a 26
to take the lead at 57. Kendall Payne was sitting three strokes
behind him at 60.

Greg Sandlin separated himself from the rest of the
field in the third round by shooting a 28 to finish at 85. Terry
Smith finished with a 30 to end up in second place at 91.
In the Amateur division,
Jason
VanBuskirk won his fourth Oklahoma tournament of the year
shooting a 90 and beating
Mike
Foster by one stroke. The first round leader was
John Lozier
posting a 30; two strokes back were the VanBuskirk's, Mike Foster,
and
Danny Hoel.
In the second round, Mike Foster and Jason VanBuskirk both fired
eight under par and were tied at 60. Lozier was three strokes back
at 63, and Jimmy VanBuskirk was at 64. The third round intensified
and Jason VanBuskirk held on to beat Foster by a stroke with a final
round of 30, to finish at 90. Spots went to John Lozier, Mike
Foster, and Danny Hoel.
