Greg Sandlin Posts Narrow One Stroke Victory

20 August 2005 - Enid, OK - It was a hot humid day in Enid. In the Pro division, Greg Sandlin won by one stroke over Mike Chisum and Chris Enders. Enders started off well shooting a first round leading score of 28. Closest to him was Greg Sandlin two strokes behind at 30. In the second round, both Enders and Sandlin fired 29's to keep the lead the same.

Sandlin turned another 29 in the third round to finish at 88. Mike Chisum tried to take the victory from Sandlin with a great third round of 27, but he fell short by one stroke and had to settle for a tie for second with Chris Enders. Chris Enders and Kendall Payne earned the Oklahoma State Tour spots.

In the Amateur division, Jimmy VanBuskirk dominated the entire field shooting 85 for three rounds. It was his first win of the 2005 season. Course owner, John Lozier finished alone in second at 92. Jason VanBuskirk and Danny Hoel tied for third at 95. Jimmy VanBuskirk shot eight under his first round and didn't let up at all firing rounds of 28 and 29 in the final two rounds. Scott Schuler earned the Oklahoma State Tour spot.
