Posts Fifth Victory of 2005 Season on Oklahoma State Tour

The weather was just right in Enid on Saturday, during the last
Oklahoma qualifier. In the Pro division,
Lee Messinger
shot a three round total of 87 to win his fifth Oklahoma tournament
of the year. After the first round
Mike Chisum
found himself in the lead at 28 with
Chris Enders
two strokes behind him in second. Mike fell one behind Chris Enders
and Lee Messinger in the second round; who were sitting at 58. Chris
struggled in the third round, only shooting four under par, but Lee
shot 29 to win the tournament. Mike Chisum, Chris Enders, and
Greg Sandlin
finished in a three-way tied for second.
Bob Nelson,
Kendall Payne,
and Gerry
Labayen earned the Oklahoma State Tour spots.
In the APA,
Mike Huckaby
won his first Oklahoma tournament of the 2005 season, posting a
three round score of 88.
Jason VanBuskirk
came out shooting a good round of nine under par to have the first
round lead with Mike Huckaby and
Jimmy
VanBuskirk
two shots behind him. Jason's second round score of 31, tied him
with Mike Huckaby at 58.
Mike Foster
and
Danny Hoel
were only one stroke back at 59. Jason struggled in the third round
and it allowed Huckaby and Mike Foster to pass him. There was an
eighteen hole playoff for first and Mike Huckaby was victorious over
Mike Foster. Mike Huckaby,
Greg Cole, and
Neal
Armstrong
earned the Oklahoma State Tour spots.
