Charlie Greenwalt Wins
2005 Heartland Classic

Charlie Greenwalt opened up a five stroke lead after the first four rounds of the Heartland Classic with a 72 hole score of 104, 40 under par. In second was
Kevin Lacey at 109 after the first day of play on course 3 in Richmond, IN.
The final four rounds of course 2 saw Greenwalt shoot 106 for a 144 hole score of 210, 78 under par, while Lacey fired at 104 for a 144 hole score of 213, 75 under par.
John Ventura fired a second day score of 98, rounds of 24, 24, 26 and 24, to pull into a tie for second with Lacey at 213 after Ventura fired a disappointing opening day 115. With the victory, Greenwalt earned his second qualification spot in the 2005 PPA World Match Play Championship.
Anthony Russell won the amateur division shooting 233, 55 under par, to finish three strokes ahead of Scott Copeland in second at 236. Copeland held a four stroke lead entering the final four rounds and a two stroke lead entering the final round. However, Copeland's final round 35 opened the door for Russell who shot a final round 30 for the victory.
