John Bambling Wins Monroeville Classic to Sweep Opening Weekend on
2005 Great Lakes Tour

24 April 2005 - Monroeville, PA - John Bambling used rounds of 26, 25 and 29 to post a one stroke victory over Harry Sykes in the 2005 Monroeville Classic. The win by Bambling gave him a sweep of the professional tournaments on the opening weekend of the 2005 PPA Great Lakes Tour. Bambling also earned his second qualification spot in the 2005 PPA World Match Play Championship to be held in Louisville, KY in July. Scott Buddie won won the professional match play claiming the second 2005 PPA Great Lakes Tour Championship qualification spot.

Walt Kizzie defeated Jeff Brown in a playoff for the amateur division victory. Kizzie and Brown tied at 87 to force the playoff. Scott Copeland won the amateur match play.
