Kevin
Lacey caught fire, setting a course record, and a couple tour
records on his way to his third IPPT Title
in four tries. Lacey shot a 67 under par 149 to win the IPPT West
Major. His closest competition was
James Weber
who finished 13 shots back at 162. Lacey's 21 broke the old course
record of 22 held by 5 players and his 149
broke his own 6 round record set in 2002 in Louisville and his
margin of victory, 13 strokes also broke an IPPT record for largest
margin of victory in a 6 round event.
John
Ventura was third in the event with a 166, followed by
Jerry
Pinotti in 4th at 167 and Paul May and
Dave
Nutini tied for the 5th spot at 168.
In the Amateur Division,
John Watkins
of Southport posted an 8 stroke victory shooting a six round total
166 50 under par.
Bill Hammons
of Indianapolis was second 8 shots back at 174 while
Scott
McCutchen finished third with a 179. Anthony Russell finished
4th 180 while
Josh
Garrison grabbed the 5th spot with a 185.
The IPPT Tour now moves to Richmond, Indiana for 2 events
on Saturday and Sunday,
June 5th and 6th.
