Roger Beckerman
is no stranger to winning and proved once again that he is a force on
the GLT. His come from behind victory left no doubt that he was on his
game. Beckerman fired a 79 to capture the Northeast Ohio Open by three
strokes over Rick
Alessi of Erie, PA on Warren’s course 3, site of last year’s GLT
Championship.
John Bambling
led after the first round shooting an impressive 24 for a two shot lead.
In round two Alessi assumed the lead with a 26 and a one shot lead over
2001 GLT
Champion Todd Viau.
Beckerman was 2 shots back at 54 and tied with Indiana Tour player
Nate Nichols. In
the final round Beckerman shot an impressive score of 25 to seize the
victory from Alessi who finished second. Beckerman earned his first GLT
Title of 2004 and his first GLT spot.
Scott Buddie
reeled off 5 straight victories to win the match play and secure his
first GLT spot of 2004.
Don Ferrell wins the
APA Northeast Open
27 June 2004 – Warren, OH – The elder statesman of
the GLT was able to put together three good rounds to win the APA
Northeast Open.
Don Ferrell won by two shots over Saturday’s winner
Barb Mingo.
Ferrell shot a winning score of 87, which were two shots better than
Mingo. Leroy Lacey earned the GLT spots due to Ferrell already having
earned two GLT spots.
Andy McCoy won
the APA match play and
Terry Sanner
received the GLT spot due to Andy McCoy already having earned two GLT
Spots.
