17 April 2004 - Hamilton, OH - James Weber has not been a Pro, but a couple of years, but he does know how to defend a title. Weber won the Queen City Classic in 2003 has his first win as a pro and the Cincinnati, OH resident successfully defended that title with rounds of 23-29-30 for a 54-hole score of 82, 26 under par. Playing under ideal weather conditions, Weber took the early lead alone with a score of 23, which was a new course record on Course 1 with Roger Beckerman 3 strokes behind at 26 in second place. A second round 29 resulted in a 36 hole score of 52, 20 under par, which increased Webers lead to five shots over the 2003 Great Lakes Tour Player of the Year Jim Cruse. The final round saw no real pressure on Weber and his final round 30 was good enough for a score of 82 and a 3 shot victory over Cruse and a spot in the Great Lakes Tour finals. In the PPA match play, pro veteran John Ventura defeated Robb Titchell and received a Great Lakes Tour finals spot as well. Don Ferrell Wins Queen City Classic APA Title 17 April 2004 - Hamilton, OH - In the APA division, it was three time National APA Champion Don Ferrell winning the first Great Lakes Tour APA tournament of 2004. Ferrell played steady for the three round event by firing rounds of 29-29-32 for a 54-hole score of 90 and a 4 shot victory over Mike Bell and a spot in the Great Lakes Tour finals. The man who finished second did not seem to be to disappointed because Mike Bell won the APA match play and a Great Lakes Tour finals spot, by defeating Scott Copeland in the match play finale.
