Daryl Freeman Notches Second Win of 2003 Season

Winner of 2003 NCPutters.com Open19 July 2003 - Burlington, N.C. - Daryl Freeman posted three solid rounds of 24, 22, and 24 to earn his second win of the 2003 season and a slim one stroke victory over Andy Coradini. Freeman won the second annual NCPutters.Com Open on Course 2 in Burlington with an impressive winning score of 70. The score of 70 is the lowest three-round score shot in a PPA event this season.
Coradini finished in second with a score of 71. Greg Newport, a heavy favorite in this event, finished in third alone with a score of 73. Fourth went to reigning state champion Ray Guthrie at 74, while Randal Smith rounded out the top five with a score of 75.
Local player Matt Page won his very first APA tournament by carding three consecutive rounds of 26 to edge out Brian Hutchins by one shot. Page won the event in the APA Division by shooting a score of 78. Hutchins was second at 79, and third went to Ricky D. Schults, who was the first round leader, with a score of 80.
