15 June 2003 - Richmond, IN - More rain, this time it stopped in the early morning hours but still soaked the carpets of low scoring Richmond Putt-Putt Course 2. Charlie Greenwalt, let the course conditions come to him as he posted a 3 shot victory in the Hoosier Heartland Classic. Greenwalt started steady on the drying carpet with his first 2 rounds 28. He then hammered the field in rounds 3-4-5 with scores of 24, 23 and 25. His final round 28 was good enough for a 6 round total 60 under par 156 and he claimed the victory over "Red-Hot" Shawn Gilliland and Tom Morrison who finished the day tied for second at 57 under par 159. Brandon Yee finished 4th with a 6 round total 163 while Tim Greenert earned the last cash spot with a 51 under par 165.
Anthony Amick Wins APA Title
15 June 2003 - Richmond, IN - In the Amateur Division, Anthony Amick of Columbus, Ohio chalked up his 3rd victory in 2 days with a 59 under par 157 for the six round event. Amick sets a new 6 round APA record for the Indiana Tour with rounds of 25-32-24-25-27-24 to win the event by 18 strokes over Dave Hager who finished at 41 under par 175. John Watkins of Southport finished 3rd at 177 while Scott McCutchen was 4th 36 under par 180.
