Jerry Pinotti, winner of the
Louisville Open on the PPA Indiana State Tour. |
17 May 2003 - Louisville, KY - Rain
again. This time it was so bad, course owner
Tim
Greenert had to use a wet vac to clear holes 13 and 15 before
practice could begin. That didn't bother
Jerry
Pinotti, who used his knowledge of the wet carpets on course 1
at Louisville to win the "Louisville Open" and card his first
professional victory on the Indiana Professional Putters Tour. Jerry
used a first round 11 under par 25 to take a 3 shot lead over
Shawn
Gilliland and Tom Russell. His second round 7 under par 29 kept
him one stroke ahead of Gilliland who fired a 9 under par 27.
Pinotti closed with a 9 under par 27 and a 2 shot win over Shawn
Gilliland who finished with an 83.
Danny
Holcomb finished third with a 24 under par 84.
In Match Play Pinotti continued his strong play as he worked
through the field winning 2 of his 3 matches in Sudden Death and
then defeating Danny Holcomb in the 36 hole final.
