Jerry Pinotti Wins "Fire Cracker Classic"

6 July 2003 - Ft. Wayne, IN - On day two of the IPPT trip to Ft. Wayne, you could hear words like, Tough, Impossible, Amazing and Unreal. Playing the hardest course in IPPT History, Jerry Pinotti of Jeffersonville kept his stroke sharp and his mental game strong as he toured course 3 six times to win the Firecracker Classic.
Pinotti put together rounds of 32-31-27-29-33 and 26 to finish at 178, 38 under par and 8 strokes ahead of Nate Nichols of Columbus and Paul May of Louisville. Pinotti's 26 was unthinkable after the players spent 3 hours working on the course before the start of the event. Tim Greenert of Louisville finished 4th in the event with a 28 under par 188 while Danny Holcomb of Columbus grabbed the last cash spot at 26 under par 190.
Zach Smith Wins APA "Fire Cracker Classic" Title
6 July 2003 - Ft. Wayne, IN - In the Amateur Division, Zach Smith of Indianapolis chalked up another victory on the Indiana Tour with a 21 under par 195 for the six round event. Smith fired rounds of 37-33-29-36-30 and 30 to win the event by 5 strokes over third generation putter Josh Garrison ( 16 under par 205). Jeff Hearon finished third at 11 under par 205.
