Brian Summers
overcame rain soaked carpets to win his first event on the Indiana Tour
the Wabash Open. Summers shot rounds of 30, 28 and 31 to grab a 2 shot
victory over Indiana Legend Jim Garrison.
Shawn
Gilliland set the course record with a 27 to take the first round
lead but could only shoot a 36 in round 2 to fall out of contention.
Summers carded an 8 under par 28 to grab the lead after round two and
was able to hold on for the 2 shot victory.
Charlie
Greenwalt,
Jeff
Garrison and
Tim Greenert
tied for third with 16 under par 92's.
Ventura Wins Wabash Open Match Play

Winner of Wabash Open Match-Play.

Know as a man who "knows the wet shots,"
John Ventura
of Cincinnati won the Wabash Open Match Play Tournament defeating medal
play winner Brian Summers 1 up in the 36 hole final. Ventura advanced to
the finals with wins over Jim Garrison 4 and 3 and Charlie Greenwalt
7and 5 in a match where Ventura made 12 straight holes after missing
hole 1. Summers advanced to the finals by defeating Tom Gross in 1 hole
of sudden death and Tim Greenert 2 up.
Rookie Hearon Wins APA Wabash Open
You can count on
Jeff Hearon
doing a "Rain Dance" before each of the remaining Indiana Tour
events. Hearon overcame the wet carpets of Wabash Indiana to win his
first event on the Indiana Tour. Hearon fired a 7 under par 29 and
added rounds of 32 and 33 for a 54 hole total 94 and a one shot
victory over Nate Nichols. Scott McCutchen had his best finish of
the season thus far finishing third while Zach Smith of Indianapolis
placed 4th.
Bill Hammons won his second Match Play Title defeating Nate
Nichols in the 36 hole final 3 and 2. Hammons advanced to the final
with wins over Zach Smith 2 and 1 and Jeff Hearon 2 and 1. Nichols
advanced to the finals defeating John
Watkins and Scott McCutchen 1-up.
