Putter
James Weber did not like the way he putted in his first match
of the 2002 APA Indiana State Championship.
Jeff Hearon
of Indianapolis defeated Weber 4 and 3 to knock him into the
losers bracket and a long row to hoe ahead. Weber apparently isn't
afraid to "hoe" as he chopped his way through the losers bracket
winning 7 straight matches to win the APA Match Play State
Championship. Weber defeated Andy McCoy 1 up,
Tim Schrader
3 and 2, Jeff Hearon 2 and 1,
Zach Smith 2
and 1 and Mike
McGreevy 3 and 2 to advance to play
John Watkins
who had won the winners bracket. Weber beat Watkins in the 36 hole Match
Play Tilt to force a second 36 hole match that he won 5 and 4. Watkins
defeated Zach Smith SD-1, Jeff Hearon SD-1 and Mike McGreevy 2 and 1
before meeting Weber. |
