Greg Roberts Wins for First Time in
2001 on the Texas State Tour

Roberts continued the weekend trend of first time 2001 winners by
taking Sundays event in Webster by one over Chris
Conradi and two over Brice
Bergesen and Lee
Messinger. A 12 under 24 second round paced Greg to a victory he had
well in hand, until a 4 on the 17th hole in the final round, forced him
to make a 2 on the last hole. A good lay-up putt left Greg with an easy
duce putt for the victory. Greg Roberts and Chris Conradi both took
spots for state weekend and Lee Messinger defeated Brice Bergesen in an
18-hole playoff for the final state spot.
In the APA division Andy
Gaiser won his 2nd event of 2001 with a two stroke victory over Wade
Sahmel, his fourth second place finish this year. State spots went
to Adam Sahmel,
Gary Plain and
Ken Beck.
