Tom Adair Posts First Victory in Nine Years on Texas State Tour in Tyler

5 May 2001 - Tyler, TX - Tom Adair returned to the winners circle for first time in 9 years with a consistent performance of three straight 27's. Tom held a three stroke over Jeff Smith and Lee Messinger after the second round and despite a strong push from Jeff with the best round of the day at 11 under managed to make the 15th 16th and 17th holes to take the victory.

In the Amateur division the two top players this year waged a tight battle with Steve Tanton shooting an 11 under round to Wade Sahmel's 10 under in the second round to take the title by one. This was Steve's third win of the year.
