Texas State Tour Returns to Beaumont, Texas

28 July 2001 - Beaumont, TX - In returning to the Beaumont course for the first time since the mid 80's the the players of the Texas tour were essentially playing an unknown course. Lee Messinger managed to negotiate his his way to a 19 under 89 and a two stroke victory over Don Parker. Lee Messinger paced his play with a 6-under 12 on the front 9 for a 8 under total during the second round, this matched the lowest round of the day with Don Parker, Brice Bergesen, and amateur Dwain Willett. State Spots went to Don Parker, Chris Conradi and Randy Willett.

In the APA division Dwain Willett paced his 18 under 90 winning score with a 28 and 29, the only player in either division with two rounds under 30. State spots went to Dwain Willett, Greg Cole and Alan Thomas.
