Warren fired a 24 in the middle round to lead at 53 with 18 holes remaining. Reeves and Ward each went in at 54.

Warren was gunning for his first win in almost four years, and almost had it. He fired a respectable final round 28 but it would not hold as Reeves outplayed him in the final round with a 26 to capture his first tour win since August 27, 2000 in Anderson. The win for Reeves is his fifth career on the South Carolina tour.

Spartanburg APA local player Tommy Hutchinson last played on this course in the State Championship last year and won by one shot. He kept his streak alive in Spartanburg by narrowly defeating Chris Hudson by one shot. Hutchinson trailed surprise first round leader Keith Brigman by five shots and was in the bottom half of the 12 player APA field.

Then, he takes the lead after the second round with a 26 (APA best round of the day) and held on to win his first event of the season in South Carolina. Hutchinson shot 86 to maintain his lead in the APA points race, while Hudson ended up at 87. Steve Helton, another local from Spartanburg, finished in third at 92.

Ward and Coradini each ended up tied for third at 82, while Todd Fowler and Robert Johnson rounded out the top five at 83 in the 29-player Pro Division field.

With his win, Reeves took the Match Play spot that was available to him, while Warren accepted the state qualifying spot. Fourteen spots were paid out from this tournament with the score of 89 receiving a two-way split for the final spot. In the APA, the score of 92 was the last reimbursement line.

South Carolina will return to action on Sunday, June 3, at 10:00am as they head north across the border to Forest City. The tournament is played on Course 1.
