21 August 2001 - Mooresville Professional Putter Jim Garrison
was named the first Indiana PPA Legend Saturday before the IPPT's
Indianapolis Open Tournament. In presenting the award Tournament
Director Jim Bryant said, "I consider Jim Garrison a true
friend, a great putter and an asset to the Indiana Tour and the
PPA." Tour Public Information Director Tom Gross read the
inscription on a plaque that was presented to Garrison in a
ceremony before play began.
Jim Garrison, age 66, is a PPA Club Pro this season, splitting
time between his real job of training race horses and his fun job,
the Indiana Professional Putters Tour. Jim has played Putt-Putt
golf as a professional since 1960. He has been successful as a
national Touring Pro as well. He was 10th in the 1970
Nationals and 14th in the 1971 Nationals. He also participated
in numerous other tournaments through out the 1960's and 70's.
Garrison has won over $15,000 dollars in his career and has a life
time stroke average of 31.00. Garrison is the brother of 1962 PPA
National Champion Paul Garrison.
