David Lynch Wins in Rain in Duncanville, TX

11 June 2000 - Duncanville, TX - A torrential rain opened the morning making the prospect of the first rain-out on the Texas Tour in over 9 years seem like a possibility. The 11:00am start went by with no letup. By noon the rain has slowed enough to set a 1:00 pm Tee time. David Lynch put together two excellent rounds to take a 6 shot lead going into the final round. But after struggling through the first 14 holes David found himself in a tie for the lead with Lee Messinger with Pat King and Chris Conradi 1 stroke back. None of the leaders where able to get anything going until David aced the difficult 17th. Lee followed with bogey giving David his first tour win in 2000. Trevor Lewin managed to make a tee mat 3 on the 17th and pared the 18th to claim his first amateur win.
