Lacey Comes From Behind Again, Wins "Jim Bryant Open" Terre Haute Event
9 July 2000 - Terre Haute, IN - Just like that favorite relative that won't ever leave the dinner table, Kevin Lacey came back for thirds at Terre Haute and walked away with his 3rd win of the 2000 tour. Trailing by 4 shots after 3 rounds, Lacey worked his magic shooting a 12 under par 24 to take a 2 stroke victory. With the win Lacey moves into 3rd place in the points race. In the Match Play Competition, Jim Bryant swept through the field with his first 3 match play wins of the season.
Bill Hammons returned from a west coast vacation well rested, and battled to a 2 shot victory in the Terre Haute amateur event. Hammons saved his best round for last shooting an 8 under par 28 to edge out Mike Lebeda. Hammons capped off the day in the amateur match play event beating Chuck Gulley 4 and 3 in the 36 hole final. The next stop on the 2000 Indiana PPA tour will be Columbus, IN Course #1 on July 23rd.
