Tom Gross Receives 2000 Indiana Pro Tour Sportsmanship Award

19 August 2000 - National Touring Pro Tom Gross of Columbus, Indiana was presented the 2000 Indiana State Putting Tour Sportsmanship Award. Long time amateur putter, and 1999 winner Bill Hammons of Indianapolis presented the award before play began in the 2000 Indiana State Putting Championship. In presenting the award, Hammons cited Gross's contribution of time and energy into this years Indiana Professional Putters Tour and his ongoing effort to promote Putt-Putt tournaments across the state.

"It is quite an honor to receive this award," Gross said. "To have someone like Bill Hammons ( in who's honor the award is presented on an annual basis) present this to me means a lot." Gross went on to credit Hammons with helping him and many others learn the game.
