Greenwalt of Indianapolis captured his second Indiana State Pro/Am Match
Play Championship defeating Jim Bryant of Clayton in the 36 hole final.
Greenwalt defeated Darren Clayton, Tom
Gross, Kevin
Lacey and Bryant on his way to the Victory. Each professional putter had 2
match play spots to play out in opposite brackets. Greenwalt lost his first
match in the lower bracket, and was down 1 hole with 5 to play in his second
round match in the top bracket before marching to victory. Greenwalt
successfully defended his 1999 Match Play State Title he won in Terre Haute.
Mike
Lebeda of Terre Haute captured the 2000 Indiana State Amateur/Novice Match
Play Championship defeating John Arvin of Zionsville 10 and 9 in the 36 hole
final. Lebeda advanced to the final from the top bracket by defeating fellow
Terre Haute resident John Howard. Mike lost his bottom bracket spot in a tough
match with Justin Greenwalt. Arvin advanced to the finals by defeating Nate
Nichols of Columbus.
