Kevin Lacey Wins His Third Tournament of 2000 on the Great Lakes Tour
12 August 2000 – Richmond, IN – One week after Kevin Lacey won the TV Match Play in Fayetteville. Kevin wins the following weekend in Richmond, IN. Kevin was one stroke behind Bill Thompson when the third round was started, but by the conclusion Kevin had won the tournament. Kevin final round 23 included a perfect 9 on the back nine of the Richmond, IN course. Kevin shot 76, 32-under par and Paul Pastilong was second shooting 80, 28-under par.
Richmond was a new stop on the Great Lakes Tour and the course was in great condition for the players and the weather was just great. Kevin is one week removed from his television victory down in Fayetteville. In the match play finals Dave Nutini defeated Mike O’Rourke and secured his second spot for the Great Lakes Tour finals.
In the amateur division, Jeff Brown defeated Don Ferrell and Andy McCoy by one shot. Jeff shot 84, 24-under par. In the match play finals, Robin Ventura defeated George Matthews. The Great Lakes Tour will play in Mansfield, OH on August 26.
