Napoli Wins Again on Great Lakes Tour in Columbus, OH
15 July 2000 – Columbus, OH – A week ago John Napoli won his first tournament on the Great Lakes Tour at Springfield, OH. Well, John has won again for the second consecutive week. John was in a three-way playoff with John Kropinak and course owner Rick Alessi. All three players shot scores of 82, 26-under par. John Napoli defeated the two players in the playoff, but since he is not trying to qualify on the Great Lakes Tour the spot went to John Kropinak who defeated Rick Alessi in the playoff.
John Napoli shot rounds of 31, 24, and 27 for a final score of 82. John has been playing the Great Lakes Tour for the past couple of weeks getting ready to defend his PPA National Championship in Fayetteville, NC.
In the match play finals Paul Johns defeated Bill Baus and secured his first spot for the Great Lakes Tour finals.
In the amateur division, 1st year amateur Brandon Yee defeated long time APA player Karl Moe in an 18 hole playoff. Both players shot scores of 85, 23-under par. In the match play finals, Larry Ante defeated Don Ferrell and secured his second Great Lakes Tour spot. The Great Lakes Tour will play in Columbus, OH on July 16.
