Dave Taylor Wins in Lynchburg, VA in Warm-up Event for 1999 VA State Championship

lebo.jpg (3228 bytes)Lynchburg, VA - Trailing the leader after two-rounds, Bart Bason, by one-stroke entering the final round, Dave Taylor fired a final round of 27, 9-under par, to secure a one-stroke victory. Taylor's total of 83, 25-under par, earned him the first place prize money of $200. Runner-up Bart Bason earned $110 for his score of 84, 24-under par.

Finishing in a three-way tie for third were Peter Neumann, Rusty Taylor, and Greg Newport who each shot 86, 22-under par. Robert Johnson finished alone in sixth at 87, 21-under par. Gilbert Sharpe and Mike Brown tied for seventh at 89 followed by Thomas Rawles, Rick Rybaczek, and Ed Grajewski in a tie for ninth at 90. Brad Lebo at 91, 17-under par, earned the final money spot.

In the amateur division, David Sharp fired a final round of 24, 12-under par, to post a total of 89, 19-under par, and tie Wayne Cheatham for first place. The playoff saw Wayne Cheatham defeat David Sharp. Billy Caudle finished in third with a score of 90, 18-under par, followed by Jonathan Moore and Ray Guthrie at 91 and Steven Jones and Philip Wagoner at 92.
