lebo.jpg (3228 bytes)Fredericksburg, VA - Brad Lebo entered the second round of play five strokes off the lead held by Gilbert Sharpe who shot an opening round 25, 11-under par. Lebo then fired an amazing 22 aces in the next 27 holes to turn the five stroke deficit into a four stroke lead with the final nine holes to play. Lebo's second round of 21, 15-under par, shattered the existing course record and place him at 51, 21-under par, for two rounds and two strokes ahead of Danny Dore in second place.

With an 11, 7-under par, on the front nine the final round, Lebo built a four stroke lead going into the final nine. His 14, 4-under par, back nine was more than enough to clinch the victory by five strokes over the 15 player professional field. The victory is Lebo's first of 1999 on the Virginia tour and further solidifies his position on top of the Virginia State points standings.
