coradini.jpg (6860 bytes)High Point, NC - The High Point, NC course, long known for its fast carpet, was tamed with new carpet but proved to be still be a challenge for the players as the winning score of 81, 27-under par, attests. After two rounds of play, Rick Baird at 52, 20-under par, held a slender one-stroke lead over Bob Haizlip. Lurking three strokes off the lead at 55, 17-under par, was Andy Coradini. Coradini used a final round of 24 the day before in Martinsville, VA to move into the prize money. Today, Coradini used a final round of 26, 10-under par, to pass Baird and Haizlip and claim at two-stroke victory.

The victory was Coradini's first NC State tour win of 1999 and moved him to the top of the NC Points standings and money winnings at 260.5 points and $806.

Gary Hester closed quickly with a final round of 24, 12-under par, matching the final round of 24 he shot the day before in Martinsville, VA to close that tournament. Matching Hester at 84, 24-under par, was Bill Kirby, Jr. who posted consistent rounds of 29-28-27 for a total of 84. Rounding out the top ten were Michael Hitt, Todd Barfield, and C. L. Jones at 86 and Fred Hallaman and Chris Bunting at 87. Total prize money for the event was $1,014 on entry fees of $1,240.
