Regional Tournaments

  • All regional tournaments listed will offer prize monies of $500 and will qualify 2 Pro and 1 A.P.A. member to compete in the 1981 National Championship in Charlotte, NC during August.

  • Entry fees will be $20 for Pros and $10 for A.P.A. members.

  • Attempt to qualify fees will be $10 for Pros and $5 for A.P.A. members.

  • Upon qualifying Pros will pay an additional $100 qualifying fee and A.P.A. members will pay an additional $10.

  • Low medalist in the Pro division will receive one of the offered qualifying spots with the next 8 low medalist playing 18 hole match play elimination for the second spot. Low medalist in the A.P.A. division will receive one spot offered in that division.

  • Tee off for all $500 events will be 12:00 noon.

$10,000 Open Tournaments

  • In addition to the prize monies offered, each $10,000 tournament will offer one (1) Pro spot in the 1982 T.V. Series (to be filmed as the final 8 of the 1981 National Championship). The low medalist of each of these events will play a 36 hole match against the winner of 18 hole match play elimination which will be played between the next 32 low medalists in each $10,000 event (except the Carolinas Open). The eight (8) low medalists in the A.P.A. division will qualify for the 1981 National Championship.

  • Entry fees will be $100 for Pros and $20 for A.P.A. members

  • Attempt to qualify fees will be $20 for Pros and $10 for A.P.A. members.

  • Additional qualifying fees will be the same as the $500 tournaments.

  • $10,000 events will be 144 holes (8 rounds) over 2 different courses. Five rounds will be played on Saturday and the final three rounds on Sunday.
