Harritos Victor After Play-off Match
Cincinnati, OH - Sunday, August 15 - In a field of 50 pros, touring Pro Jim Harritos
from Atlanta, GA, finished regulation play (4 rounds) with a 23-under par, 121, tying him
with Cincinnati Pro Jim Borchelt. Both men then went into an 18 hole playoff and Harritos
was able to finish on top and collected $300.00 for his efforts. Borchelt had to settle
for second place and $200.00.
In the amateur division, 13 amateurs matched their skill with Dayton, OH amateur Jerry
Kyle, finishing with top honors. His 125 was three strokes ahead of his nearest
competitor. Finishing in fourth place with a 135 was newly crowned Amateur National
Champion, Gil Caito of Indianapolis.

This is to announce that Tracy Moore, owner of the Augusta, GA Putt-Putt and newly
crowned PPA National Championship, will hold a $1,000 PLUS tournament during the
Labor Day weekend. The tournament which will consist of four rounds will be played Sunday,
September 5, 1965. Chances are excellent that the prize money will run as high as $2,000.
All entry fees will be put into the prize money kitty. The entry fee will be $25.00 plus
$0.50 for the Pros Player's Committee. This includes up to 5 days of practice. The course,
located on Hwy. 1 in Augusta, is a newly constructed 36 hole beauty and is considered by
many to be a real tester. All Pros, PPA and LPPA members are urged to attend this last
National tournament of the year. Amateurs are also invited to compete for a $5.00 entry
fee. A beautiful trophy will be awarded.
