Neil Connor Winner of $2,000 Johnson City, TN Tournament

Johnson City, TN - 23 July 1960 - Neil Connor, National Champion of the PPPGA, came through with a dazzling 28 under par 188 over the 108 hole route at the Johnson City, Tennessee Putt-Putt Golf Course. This was a record for the Putt-Putt Professional Golfers Association Tourney Circuit since its beginning on May 28, 1960. This brings Connors earnings for the year up to the $3,085 mark. Ron Nixon of Columbus, Georgia shot a sparkling 189 for second place prize money of $500. This pushed Nixon's winnings to $2,140. In third place was Earl Fritts, good for prize money of $200. Eighty PPPGA members participated in this ninth tournament of the season for the PPPGA. Heavy rains during the day made the putting greens very slow but did not hamper the shooting of Connor, Nixon, or Fritts.

The next tournament will be held July 30, 1960, Indianapolis #2, Indiana $2,000.

Recommended headquarters include Holiday Inn Motel and Mayfair Motel. Entry Fees are $4.00. Qualifying rounds will begin at 1 P.M. on Saturday, July 30. Plan to attend!!
