Williamson Wins First Place in Dayton, Ohio Tournament

Dayton, OH - 6 August 1960 - On Saturday, August 6, on the Putt-Putt Golf Course, 4646 N. Main in Dayton, Ohio, Bob Williamson, pro from Jacksonville, Florida who has followed the PPPGA circuit throughout the season, copped first place money of $1,000 with his 193, 23 under par for the 108 hole route.

Moments before Williamson's finish, Frank Holt of Savannah, Georgia, on of the consistent top contenders, took a 4 on the 18th hole to go two strokes down under Williamson in the dramatic finish of the $2,000 tournament. Holt's 195 total earned a slot in the three-way tie for second place with pros, Ron Nixon and Ron Slocumb, both of Columbus, Georgia who also shot 195s good for $266.66 each.

Baltimore, Maryland will be the site of the next national PPPGA tournament to be held on Saturday, August 13 on the Putt-Putt Golf Course, 1100 North Point Boulevard in that city. Prize money will total $1,000. After next week's tourney, two more nationals remain in the 1960 season, one to be held in Richmond, Virginia on August 20 and the final tournament of the season to be held on August 27 in Fayetteville, North Carolina.

A PPPGA local tournament is scheduled for August 16 at the Putt-Putt Golf Course, 100 Coliseum Boulevard, Montgomery, Alabama. Entrance fees are $2.00 and amount of purse will be determined by the number of pros entering. See pro, A. C. Medlin, for further details.

A local Pro-Am Tournament will be held on the Lake Charles Putt-Putt Golf Course, Oak Park Boulevard and Highway 14 on August 19th, 1960, at 7:30 P.M. Entry fees are $2.00 with prize money totaling $200. All pros are invited to enter.
