Lehman Key Wins First Place $1,000 in Charlotte Tourney

Charlotte, NC   …Lehman Key, pro from Lake Charles, Louisiana, whose previous PPPGA tourney winnings had totaled $365, added $1,000 to that amount on Saturday, July 9, as he copped first place in the $2,000 Charlotte, NC PPPGA tourney with his 21 under par 195.

John Connor from Greenville, SC, shot a 197, 19 under par, for second place and $500, followed by Tracy Moore working pro from Augusta, Georgia, shooting 198, good for third place and $200.

National PPPGA champ, Neil Connor of Greenville, SC, playing under a great deal of pressure against stiff competition to uphold his national reputation barely made the cut with his 4 under par 140 after 72 holes of qualifying play. Connor rallied, however, in the final rounds shooting a 199, 17 under par in a three-way tie for fourth place and $75.00.

The next national PPPGA tournament will be held on the Putt Putt Golf Course in the Truway Shopping Center, Winston-Salem, North Carolina on Saturday, July 16.
