Earl Fritts Places for Third Time as Tourney
Winner
Baltimore, MD
After winning tournaments in Dallas, Texas and Indianapolis, Indiana, Earl Fritts, Houston,
Texas pro, again finished with flying colors in the August 13 tournament held on the
Putt-Putt Golf Course, 1100 North Point Boulevard in Baltimore, Maryland. Fritts aced the
last two holes of the 08 hole route to finish with a 192, 24-under par, strategically
winning by one stroke over Lee Weldy of Savannah, Georgia who shot a 193. Fritts earned
$500 in the $1,000 tourney, with Weldy trailing for $250.
Asheville, North Carolina pro, Vance Randall, shot a dramatic 196 for
third place winnings of $100 with Neil Connor of Greenville, South Carolina coming in
fourth with his 197, good for $50.
The next national PPPGA tournament will be held on the Putt-Putt Golf
Course, Dickens Road and Broad Street, in Richmond, Virginia. Prize money will total
$1,000 in this August 20 tourney.

The next national PPPGA tournament is scheduled for August 20th on the Putt-Putt Golf
Course, Dickens Road and Broad Street, Richmond, Virginia. Prize money will total $1,000
with top money being $500. Entry fees are $2.00 and qualifying rounds will begin promptly
at 1 PM.
If registering with the tournament director at the Richmond tourney site, all rpos must
be registered by 1 PM, Friday, August 19. If registration through the PPPGA Home Office,
registration forms must be received by 1 PM, Thursday, August 18.
August 1960 Locals
Please note the following correction: The PPPGA $100 local will be held on the
Montgomery, Alabama Putt-Putt Golf Course, 100 Coliseum Boulevard on August 20, instead of
August 16, as published in the August 8th edition of the PPPGA Newsletter.
A $100 PPPGA local will be held on the Putt-Putt Golf Course, 3120 Hillsboro Road,
Durham, North Carolina on August 22, 1960.

Hawaiian VFF Winner Selected
On August 6th, at the Dayton, Ohio national PPPGA tournament, Miss
Putt-Putt selected the third Vacation Fun Festival Winner. Leta Bela Burns, 705
Cusic, Lake Charles, LA won the all-expense paid vacation for two to Hawaii.
